Kingdom Kids is a club for Primary school aged children and we meet once a month on a Friday night from 6:30-8pm at one of the families’ homes. It is a chance for the children in the church to get together outside of the Sunday church setting. We explore the Bible, have discussions, do games and sing. It’s different from Sunday School in that we have more time to delve into topics and we use Carine MacKenzie’s ‘My first Book of Questions and Answers’ as a basis for tackling huge questions like ‘sin’ and ‘the Trinity’.
In the Spring and Summer season we also try to have at least one outing together where we do something a bit different. In the past we’ve been to Lochore Meadows to do a nature trail, the Lomond Hills and Linlithgow to do a geocaching hunt. We invited the whole church to these events – it’s a great opportunity to meet and do something together.
A “small group” for high school ages with lots of fun and games which meets monthly at the same time as Kingdom Kids, in a family home. We talk and study the Bible together and discuss how it applies to our lives – so there’s lots of questions and opinions shared. We’ve recently had a look at the Ten Commandments.
Every few months our youth group joins up with the youth group from Dunfermline East Church for a visit to PowerPoint in Edinburgh which is a Christian event aimed at teens with speakers and lots of music.
