We come with nothing; it is counter cultural. As we listen to Jesus we start to hear how to put right what is wrong, to get right with God.
Jesus’ character shows us true meekness:
- “Meekness and majesty” (as one modern song writer puts it)
- Gentle and great
- Submissive to authority and authoritative
- Assertive but not proud
Deep down do we believe it is really the rich who inherit the earth?
God can help us to be content in the situation we are in – in meekness we can be made happy by God.
He can free us for an inheritance through him, “living happily ever after” in God’s kingdom.
