The church is growing through God’s grace. Problems can start and that is what is happening in this passage. The devil is trying to disrupt the work of the church through persecution, corruption and disunity.

The apostles have been warned not to preach in Jesus’ name but they defy this instruction. They continue to proclaim the good news that Jesus is the Christ and that he has been raised from the dead.
This bible passage looks at how much and with what attitude we should give, about God’s judgement and about hypocrisy. However, its main message is about what kind of community the church should be. The passage illustrates a bad example but within a good church.
