We are going slowly through the Book of Mark, looking at what it means when people become disciples of Jesus Christ. We come into the kingdom of God; we turn from our sin and he reigns over his lives. He calls us to obedience and service, submitting to Him as King. Jesus says he will make us fishers of men. Jesus is at work and will transform us.
In verses 16-20, he calls four disciples and calls on them to become fishers of men. He has known them for a few months and at this moment he chooses to call them. They were not religious leaders, they were fishermen.
